Site Trivia
The past
Netilium.org has been around the 'net since mid 1999. We had worked our ways through a number of "Free/Dynamic DNS"-services before we decided to go with something more permanent. Since that, netilium.org has had a number of do-overs regarding the content and design of the site; From static HTML to a number of database-driven PHP-sites, to an XML-based site built with Java-technology, and finally ported the XML-based system to PHP.
The server configuration / location has also changed a lot over the years; From a 486DX/33 hosted on the same 128kbit/s-line as the school we attended, a HP Vectra 486 stashed away in the cellar of mad's work sharing bandwidth with symbols.com, a Pentium-75, to a Pentium II 400MHz, an AlphaServer DS10, a Quad Processor Wintel box hosted on a 2Mbit/s xDSL-something line, back to the AlphaServer DS10 co-located outside Stockholm, and finally moved to Co-location in Norrköping, Sweden.
